Life Line Screening will be performing a day of preventive health screenings at American Legion Post 708 on June 23. The Package is $149.00. Appointments are limited sign up by calling 1-800-640-6307, visit the website or text circle to 797979

That is why we wanted to announce that Life Line Screening will be performing a day of preventive health screenings at American Legion Post 708 on Saturday, June 23, 2018. This collaboration helps bring important health tests to our community at an affordable price. The tests look for signs of disease that can lead to stroke, heart attack or bone fracture. Life Line Screening scans for potential health problems for both men and women. The cost for a Wellness Package is $149.00. You must pre-register. Flag Retirement Ceremony

On Saturday, June 9 local Scouts, American Legion Post 708, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 976 will conduct a flag retirement ceremony. The ceremony starts at 9 a.m. at pavilion 99 in Tri-Township park. Flags can be brought to the event or turned in to the American Legion, VFW, or any local scout units. Friedens UCC Rummage Sale

Friedens UCC will be hosting a rummage sale on June 8th from 4 p.m to 7 p.m. and June 9th from 7 a.m to 1 p.m. There will be lunch available for purchase. Donation drop offs will begin on June 3rd. The Friedens UCC Fellowship Hall is located at 207 East Center St. Troy, IL 62294.

Summer Lunch Program

Ministries Unlimited is pleased to announce its partnership with 6 local churches and the summer lunch program at Meadow Dr. Park and Tri-Township Library. A brown bag lunch is served M-F, 11:30-12:30, now until August 10, first come, first served. The churches are: Friedens UCC, The Pentecostals of Troy, Bethel Baptist, Troy United Methodist, St. Jeromes Catholic and Pathway Church. Ministries Unlimited has donated $5,000 back to the community of Troy by sponsoring the summer lunch program.

5K Run For Your Life

The Anderson Hospital Relay Team has coordinated a 5K Run for Your Life to take place during the event! The 5K Run/Walk begins at 6 p.m. on June 30th with same day registration beginning at 4 p.m. The relay team is currently looking for runners and sponsors to support the 5K and their Relay Team fundraising efforts! Runners will pay a $30 registration fee and receive a swag bag and shirt (shirts guaranteed if registered by June 12). Sponsors can participate at the $100 level by providing info/items in the runners swag bags or at the $200 level with swag bag inserts and logo on race shirts! Access to Fishing Program

Maryville Community Library will have rods and reels, provided by Illinois Department of Natural Resources, available to borrow much like checking out a book or movie. Tackle packets (that contain hooks, sinkers, bobbers, etc.) and instructional fishing literature of fishing is available. Available at no cost for users to keep when they borrow a fishing pole. Come in and check one out!

Smokin' Oldies Band in Maryville

Maryville Parks and Rec and Midwest Members Credit Union will host the Smokin Oldies Band, Friday night, June 8 from 7:00-8:30 @ Firemen s Park on Rt. 159 in Maryville.

The band plays rock-n-roll hits from the late 50 s and 60 s non-stop.. Just bring your lawn chairs, and be ready for an evening of great music and a trip down memory lane. Washington Kettle Corn will be available. Additional parking @ Mother Perpetual Help parking lot.

Wonder - Maryville's Movie in the Park

Maryville Park and Rec Committee will begin their 2018 Movies in the Park Series on Saturday night June 9 with Wonder at Drost Park in Maryville, starting after dusk about 8:40-8:45.
 
The movie and Bobby's Frozen Custard are provided by BS Boogies, Bobby's Frozen Custard, Cindy's Critter Camp, Maryville Ministerial Alliance and Beatty Motil, Attorneys. Continuing this year, a number of local vendors will set up their tables and offer treats and prizes to those in attendance beginning at 7:30. Follow the green and blue signs off of Rt. 159 to Valadabene Drive to Schiber Court or Google #8 Schiber Court. Bring your lawn chairs, loungers, blankets, bug spray to make your evening comfortable. If you have questions, call Maryville Parks Rec 618-772-8555 between 9:00am and 5:00pm. The summer series will also include Wonder Woman on August 4, A Wrinkle in Time on September 22 and The Lego Batman Movie on October 6.

SWIC is hosting free walk-in workshops to help you determine your financial aid eligibility. They will be held June 14 from 2-5 p.m. and June 15 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Belleville Campus, 2500 Carlyle Ave., in the Liberal Arts Complex. No reservations necessary.
 
No commitment to enroll at SWIC or accept financial aid necessary to attend the workshops. Helpful items to bring to the workshops include: Photo ID Federal Student Aid ID 2016 Federal Tax Returns or Estimated Income 2016 W2 s or Estimated Income Social Security Number and birthdate Other Income documents (SSI, TANF, child support, disability, etc.) Value of investments, stock, bonds or mutual funds Balance of bank account (checking/savings) Month and year of marital status Information above may be needed for spouse or parent/guardian pending response to dependency status questions on the application.
