1st Step Learning Center Open Registration

1st Step Learning Center is having an open registration for 2018-2019 on Tuesday January 30th from 5:30pm- 7:00pm. Children are welcome to meet the teachers and explore the classrooms. Morning and afternoon sessions available.

Knights of Columbus Trivia

Saturday, March 3, 2018 Troy Illinois Knights of Columbus Council #9266 annual Trivia Night. Proceeds will benefit St. John Neumann Elementary School, Scholarships and Various Charities. Trivia will be held at the St. John Neumann Elementary School, 142 Wilma Drive, Maryville, IL 62062. Please call Norm Broska 618 667-2115 with reservations questions or email or you may also call Bill Bulva at 618-667-2768. Doors open at 6:00 pm play begins at 7:00 pm. Cash prizes to the top 3 finishers. The cost per table is $120, limit of 8 players per table. Bring your own food, snacks and beverages coolers allowed. There will be a silent auction, 50/50, mulligans and other bonus games. Put on your thinking caps and enjoy and evening of fun with your friends.

Tamale Salsa Fundraiser

The Pentecostals of Troy, 8965 Rt. 162, Troy IL, will be taking orders for homemade authentic tamales and salsa until January 28. Tamales will be chicken or pork, $15/dozen, $8/half-dozen. Hot, medium or mild salsa is available for $8/quart or $4/pint. Pick up is February 3 beginning at 11 AM. Order some for your Super Bowl party!! The Knights Ball

Come support Triad Athletics on Saturday May 12, 2018 from 6:00 PM- 11:00 PM. This event will be held at the Fireman's Hall in Collinsville IL. Tickets are $100 each and can be purchased at Triad middle and High School offices, the Chamber office, and Timeout Grill. Must be 21 or up to attend.

This event will feature the live band Living Loud . The Red Carpet begins at 5:30 PM, Band will be playing from 7:00-11:00 PM, and food and drink will be served all evening. You are able to win up to $15,000 in CASH. $1,000 Early Bird drawing on Jan 31st, 2018. **cash prizes are dependent upon ticket sales**

MARYVILLE EVENTS

Easy International Foods

Sunday, January 28 Easy International Foods will be the 1st session demonstrating how to prepare some easy International foods that will give a party, snack, or meal a different flair. Irish coffee scones, Italian lasagna, Greek yogurt, French crepes, and Japanese sushi will be demonstrated.

In order to have enough handouts and samples at these sessions, pre-registration is requested, but definitely not required. Call 618-772-8555 for more information and to register. Feel free to leave a message with name, phone number and number of attendees. All sessions are free and open to the public. All sessions will be from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Please note that the final three sessions will be at the Maryville Community Center located at 500 E. Division Street and while the first session will be at Villa Marie Winery. Look for blue and green signs to help direct you to the Center which is behind Village Hall and the Police station, just off Rt. 159. A session may be cancelled if weather is severe.

Friends of the Maryville Community Library Book Sale **Due to severe space constraints, we no longer accept book donations.** There are books of all kinds for sale in the Friends' ongoing book sale: the latest fiction, cook books, bios, children's books, and more. Hidden treasures, old favorites, and new discoveries can all be yours for $5.00 a bag. The on-going book sale is held during regular library hours, six days a week. Stop by and browse. We'll even help you carry books to your car.

Educational Classes and Informational Meetings

Hello Everyone, The Alzheimer's Association Educational Classes will be at Main Street Community Center, in Edwardsville, the first Tuesday of every month.

To help reach families whose loved ones have Alzheimer's or other related dementias, the classes are FREE and open to the public. If you have any questions, please contact Sara Hoelscher at 618-979-3602.

Special Olympics Illinois Basketball

397 Special Olympics Illinois athletes will compete in the Region J Basketball Team and Individual Skills on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Wesclin High School Middle School in Trenton, IL. Teams from Special Olympics Illinois Regions J, H K will begin competition at 9 a.m. with Opening Ceremonies at 10:15 a.m. The Bishop Althoff Knights of Columbus 4th Degree will present the flag In addition to team competitions, individual athletes from Special Olympics Illinois Region J will compete in Individual Skills including dribbling, shooting and passing. Gold medal winners from teams skills are eligible to advance to the Special Olympics Illinois State Basketball Tournament in Normal on March 16-18, 2018. Salvation Army Seeking Volunteers

The Salvation Army in Granite City, IL could use voluntees for assistance in the morning with stocking food pantry and making produce bags. In the afternoon we could use volunteers to assist with the distribution of the food orders for the clients of the food pantry.

Morning hours would be 9am-Noon, and Afternoon hours would be 1pm-2:45pm. If you would like to work the complete day, lunch is provided.
